Wally’s Classic Camera Exchange

Wally Franiel's Classic Camera Exchange was a real hidden gem in Edmonton. After moving to Canada from Poland, Wally opened his first camera shop in the 1970s before settling into the 118 Ave location in 1984.

He bought and sold all kinds of vintage camera gear from original Polaroid point-and-shoots to Super 8 cameras and projectors. If you were interested in photography, or just wanted to hear some great stories, you had to visit Wally.

I created this video as part of my YEG Stories project. Unfortunately, Wally has recently passed away, but his presence in the community will never be forgotten!
